Sometimes life is just miraculous. Great people are everywhere. My boss for one, not only did he not come down on me for my foot in mouth disease, he completely understood my concern and allayed all my fears about saying the wrong thing.
What a guy. And just on Friday he said "Hear that sound?" in his email subject, and in the body said "It's the weekend beckoning you to go have fun. Unless you have something critical, go play!"
I think I finally found my "work tribe." Keep ya posted.

Mouthful of Foot
Do you ever say or do something and you just go "What was I THINKING?" Do you put your foot in your mouth??
I did that today, ooooo on a new job too...ack! So I pondered on whether to write a little note to the person and did, which went something like "Oh, yeah, I realized it was a mouthful of foot and would you please look past that?" Probably worse than letting sleeping dogs lie.
Thinking first is probably always the way to go, especially if you want to appear calm, logical and orderly. Of course, for an artist, sometimes just blowing it out creates some pretty interesting conversation and well, sometimes art. But if you're in a corporate job, and you have the tendency to let it all hang out...well, it's time to get some coaching I guess. A little finishing school for corporate flunkies and artists. Fortunately, my boss is of the artist persuasion so maybe he'll forgive my flailings....keep ya posted.

Food and Politics
Food and politics: is there a relationship? Do the big brawling republicans who are boys eat a lot of BBQ and burgers, or is that just a male thing? Are female progressives all about watercress and vegetarian protein? Lots of stereotypes. Any connections come to mind? I like exploring stereotypes because it makes us think about all the exceptions...which is why we try at having a civilized society.
Of course, if you are throwing a political brew-ha-ha, maybe food choices are important.
If you're having your neighbors over for ping pong, I say just make a big buttery bowl of All-american (or native american?) popcorn.

Pumpkin seeds are good for you
Pumpkin seeds are filled with A,D, E, K and other rich minerals that we don't often get enough of. Imagine them with a rich antioxidant like dark chocolate surrounding them?? mmmmmm!
